Every idea that comes to mind seems either trite or dull or, worse still, no ideas come to mind. And that’s only half of the battle, the other half is getting enough traffic to your blog. While there are many ways to traffic to your blog, driving quality targeted traffic is what counts. So, what’s a blogger to do in this situation? How to come up with an idea for your next post, and how to drive targeted traffic to it? Here are three simple yet very effective ways that will help you not only find new subjects to write about, but also to drive targeted traffic to your blog post.
Read some blogs!
Start by surfing blogs you are interested in, preferably blogs relevant to your niche. There are thousands of blogs out there that can inspire you to come up with a subject to write about. Maybe you find a blog post that has the story totally wrong. Write a post and tell the truth, leave a comment on the original blog you red the story first and say you disagree and leave a link to your post. Maybe you find a post with a subject that you have a complete different view of what the author has. Write a post about it and share your views views. You can even link to the original article, since this will help the original writer to get some traffic, (s)he will most likely link back to you as well. not only you wrote a new post, but also you are building links and driving traffic to your blog.
Answer Questions On Yahoo Answers
Go to yahoo answers and find out what are some common question that people are asking. Thousands of people ask questions on yahoo answers everyday, and you are sure to find some that are related to your niche. Write a post answering those question. After publishing your post, go back to those questions on yahoo answers and write a short answer there, leaving a link as the resource for the answer, pointing to your new post which is is a much more detailed version of your answer to that question. Not only you are helping someone by answering their question, you are also finding a new subject to write about and at the same time getting some very targeted traffic from yahoo answers.
Participate In Related Forums
Another great way for finding new topics to write about is using forums. We all know forums are one of the best ways to drive traffic to your blog as well as building backlinks. So, why not use the same forums as a way to get inspired for new posts? Go to any forum related to your niche, look around, you can easily find hundreds of questions and topics people are talking about. Pick the most debated about subject. Do some research if you don’t already know much about the topic, write a quick post about it. After posting it, go back to the forum and start talking about it in related threads. Make sure you change your signature so it will have the link to your new post about the same subject. If its a hot subject people will click on your link to check it out. Try answering the question in a very helpful but not completely, so people will want to know the rest, and since you already showed them you know about the subject, and there is a big old link pointing to a complete answer to the subject(question), they cant resist not clicking on your link and reading your post.
There are many ways you can twist and turn these methods and use them in verity of different ways. For example, blog readers tend to leave comment for some post more than others, it becomes a hotly debated topic, and the comment section will become hotter than the post itself. Use that to your advantage by writing a post and giving your opinion about other peoples comment and inviting them to get in the conversation by leaving a comment on that same page with a link to your post.
As you can see, with a little thinking out side of the box and adding your own turn and twists, you can have new subjects to talk about, while at the same time, making more money from your blog by driving vast amounts of highly targeted traffic to it.
