A List Of 34 Dofollow Article Directories- Page Rank 1 to 6
Dofollow article directories are very important for any article marketing campaign. Article marketing is as simple as submitting your articles to article directories to build backlinks and drive free web traffic to your blog or website. But we all know that when it comes to backlinks and page rank, not any backlinks is worthy.
When it comes to your blog’s page rank, Backlinks generated from dofollow article directories tend to carry more wight than backlinks from article directories with nofollow attribute. And of course article directories with higher page rank are much more effective in getting a higher page rank.
Although finding dofollow article directories and their page rank isn’t that hard, its very time consuming to sort through hundreds of article directories to determine their page rank and whether or not they are dofollow. That’s why I decided to do some research and gather a list of dofollow article directories along with their page rank, so you don’t have to.

Thanks for the list. It is very helpful, since I no longer need to check manually whether an article directory passes link juice or not. Unless we are talking about EzineArticles, Selfgrowth, or maybe one or two more (where many of the articles published will get some PR even without any backlinks pointing to them), my experience tells me that the other articles in the other directories will need some backup even just to be indexed by Google.

Hi Satrap,
Thanks for the list. I have a question regarding the PR of the article directories. Does the PR of the article website really make that much difference since each article submitted to these websites is going to start out on its own page with a PR of “unranked”? Or, in other words, has there been any solid indication that shows that the PR of the main article site somehow flows down to the articles in the site thus making them more highly regarded if the PR of the site is higher?
This is something I’ve wondered. I know of one particular internet marketing training site that says, “We have HIGH PR article sites to submit your articles to.” And I have to wonder, “does it really make any difference?”

Thanks for your comment. There is no definitive answer to that question. But most experts do agree that page rank of the home page does have some effects on links on its inner pages. In another words, they do pass link juice.

Also popular but lesser known article directories are the ones that pay authors or share revenue with authors for article submissions. Is there any reason why you dont have articlebase in there as I believe its a PR4?..wait i just checked its no follow!! Why would an article submission site not have do follow links? Surely by having do follow links more people will then use it?

Yes, ArticleBase is nofollow, and that is why I didn’t include AB in this list. Although I still submit my articles to AB, because getting links from both dofollow and nofollow sites looks more natural to Google than getting links only from dofollow sites. A it makes my link building appear more natural,

Curious, Many of the article directories leave a space for comments about the article. Is there any juice to leaving a comment? Some are do follow. If so, would it make sense to comment to several related articles at the same directory or would only one comment be of value? The articles are slightly different URL’s but the domain I assume is the same.

Only the first link counts! Although these articles are on different pages, they are on the same domain. But, you can still get the link juice from that domain, by building backlinks (using different keywords you are trying to rank for) with different anchor texts. And just to be on the safe side, I usually build 2 backlinks with same keywords, in case one of them dont get indexed or what have you. I hope this answered your question. Ezinearticles provides only NOFOLLOW links so it should not be listed here. (If you do not believe me, you can verify that by creating an article on Ezine and then viewing the article and viewing the HTML code of the current page, it is written there that the link within the article is NOFOLLOW.

Thanks for you comment. But, you are mistaking. Ezine is 100% dofollow. But, links in the article body are no follow (which they dont allow much in it any ways), while links in the bio box are dofollow, which is where it matters.

I am a web designer and run http://www.unicora.com and specialise in web design and SEO for small UK businesses. I have found on the many sites I have worked on that just getting 3-4 good pr4+links can seriously increase your sites PR rating.
For example it is rumoured that getting just one link on a PR10 site (impossible before you ask how) would give you an automatic PR8-9. This goes to show how good strong back links are worth far more then spamming low PR ranking sites and directories.

It in fact is much better to have a few backlinks from high pr sites than thousands of backlinks from low pr sites. But, since for most beginners it is kind of hard to get backlinks from high pr sites, the best next available option would be to focus on quantity rather than quality. But, we are not talking about spamming anyone either. Submitting your article to article directories to get backlinks isn’t spamming at all. In fact those directories exist solely because they want me and you to submit our articles there. thats the only way they can exist, After all they are “article directories”!

Although low pr directories might not help much in SEO, many of these low pr sites get much more traffic than high pr ones, and if you have articles there, that means you can get a lot of targeted traffic from them, and tat alone makes it worth while to submit your articles to these sites as well.
Also, when you build backlinks, you have to make it as natural as possible. Dont you think it would look suspicious to Google and other SEs, if you are only getting backlinks with high pr sites?

You may also add University Eight (my website) as a PR3 article directory cum blog. It also has dofollow commenting feature! Upto 3 dofollow backlinks are awarded for each published article.

First I submit my articles manually to ezine and a couple of other high ranking directories, then I change the articles a little bit and submit to other directories using article submission softwares like articlesubmissionhelper (100% free).
