The best way is to interlink your web 2.0 properties. Say, you make 8 web 2.0 sites, link the first one to the second one, second one to the forth one, forth one to the second one and so on. Of course, make sure to link to your main site from each web 2.0 site as well.

So a quick question…do we concentrate on building backlinks to the wheel sites and let them push to the main site? OR do we build another linkwheel (a 3rd tier) above the first one and link to it.

I guess I want to know if my efforts would be better used building web 2.0 sites than blog commenting.

Dean, it really doesn’t matter where you put your links. As long as they are there and you are using your keywords as anchor text, you are good.

I did a thing recommended by Ed Dale in his challenge – setup Web 2.0 sites and post to them through Posterous. The problem with that approach is that all of the sites are getting the same content.
It wasn’t bad by the way but I think that using Web 2.0 sites in Link Wheel will be more powerful.

And… I think that it is important to submit all of these sites to different directories and search engines as well.
For example you can use IMAutomator to do some of this job automatically.

I feel like this is an obvious question but I will ask it anyway. I think I get most of it but my question is about the actual links. I have been putting my website link in the resource box. Should I continue to do this? And is that where you put the link to the other web 2.0 site also or does that link go somewhere else.

Kiran, you don’t really have to change the articles, although some say its best to change it a little bit since they say links from within unique content have more value.

Thanks for your very detailed explanation re: building the linkwheels. I had been getting confused between social book mark sites and web 2.0 now its starting to fall into place a bit better.
