How to Make 200 Dollars Fast?
How can I make 200 dollars fast?… This was a question that I had to face a few years ago. I needed to raise about $200 in less than a week or so and I had no clue what to do.
It was a few weeks before Christmas and I was really struggling financially to the point where I didn’t have enough money to buy gifts for everyone on my list. I was in a tight spot and short about 200 bucks. I needed to make money fast somehow. So, I started brain storming and thinking about ways to make 200 dollars fast.
At that time I was running my own business of installing floors, but since flooring jobs were scarce, I would pick up other projects as well. Painting was one of those kind of projects that I was both good and fast at it. I could paint a whole interior of a house quickly and make $1000 in 2 days or so. So, it was a good way to fill times when I didn’t have any flooring projects to work on and make some money.
As you can imagine, I had lots of paint left over from different projects in my garage. But most of them were either open and used. So, I couldn’t take them back to the Home Depot to get my money back. Plus, I didn’t have the receipt for them (another big mistake), which meant I couldn’t actually get cash if I were to return them. Instead I would have gotten store credit. And that wasn’t gonna help solve my problem.
Of course, since it was right before Christmas, I couldn’t find any painting projects to work on. The closer you get to the Christmas, the less likely people are to start a project on their house. So I had to find ways to make money without a job.
I took a look around and found 3 sealed 5 gallon buckets of paint. I quickly posted an ad on Craigslist. I included all the details about them like color, the brand and the kind of paint they were.
Before posting I looked at the home depot site to see what they were selling for. They were selling each 5 gallon bucket for a little over $95. So, I priced them a little lower in hopes of selling them faster. I priced them $75 individually, but I was quick to mention that I would take 5 off of each bucket if the buyers buys all 3.
Now it was the time to just wait and hope somebody would call or email. Most people may not believe this, but if you ever sold stuff on Craigslist under prices, you know how fast they can go. Believe it or not, within 3 hours a contractor contacted me and paid $210 cash right there. I was $210 richer in a matter of hours!
So, maybe next time when you need fast cash, you could take a look around your house and try to get rid of some stuff you don’t need anymore. Whether you need to make 300, 500, 1000, 2000 dollars or whatever else amount, fast, there has to be things around the house that you don’t need and use anymore. Now, you probably won’t be able to raise the exact amount you need each and every time, but you will earn some money nonetheless.
You can easily come up with stuff to sell on eBay or Craigslist. Most of us have many unused items lying around the house, in the attic or in the garage. Even kids and teens have unwanted stuff they can sell and raise fast cash with. All it takes is a few minutes of your time, cleaning the product, snapping a few good pictures and listing it up for sale on eBay or Craigslist.
From the two (eBay & Craigslist), I would think selling on Craigslist is the fastest way to get your money, since you will be dealing with locals which means they will pick up the items and pay for it rather quickly. Which is why I recommend you use Craigslist to sell things fast if you need to make 200, 300, 500, 1000 dollars or more quickly.
