You are welcome Peter. Yes linkwheel still works if you do it the right way. Also dont forget to diversify your link building so you get backlinks from a variety of places which will make it look more natural. Thanks for your question Peter.

You are welcome Aldo. I wouldn’t stress too much over dofollow or nofollow. After all search engines like to see backlinks from a variety of sources. Thanks for commenting Aldo.

Nice list, but does anyone know which of these allows dofollow links? I’ve got tons and tons of nofollow links already. I’d really like to have a real pagerank in my lifetime…

Very good list, but I prefer to use only the most known because when things go bad, the little properties are the ones that are going to close first and I want my link to be up for the longest possible time.

Nice list!
I am not sure if link wheels still working, because Google is now devaluating blogs which are not real active or regular up-dated.
Are there some good examples of link wheels who are still effective?

Hello satrap,
Thank you for this list of web 2.0 properties. I just started a new website and I’m thinking about doing a link wheel as part of my backlinking strategy. Not sure if I’m going to do it myself or find a service.
Thanks again

Really good info here but I have no idea when this was written. Can’t tell by the article or the comments. The List of the best web 2.0 would be extremely time sensitive. I know why you aren’t putting the dates but it sort of de-values the information.
Thanks though.

James,
Yes they are nofollow, and that is why I added them to the list. Remember, one of the most important rules of link building is that it should look natural. So, if you build links using only dofollow sites, you are raising the flag up for Google and others. Its always best to use a mix of dofollow and nofollow web 2.0 sites to build link wheels or link building in general.

i am also gonna do social bookmarking right now

Davice, you are right, some of them aren’t dofollow, but since they rank well and get a lot of traffic, it still can be helpful.
The way to make links with some of these sites is to actually make a web page or blog using them. Then in that blog or web page you can make a link and point it back to your main site.

Satrap, when you say link wheels will help with ranking do you mean page rank? I have sites that I’m looking to get to the top of google micro niches. Would you recommend social bookmarking or link wheels? These are pretty uncompetitive, chosen where my PR shouldn’t hurt me.
Thanks.

Amar, I would suggest you do both social bookmarking and building link wheels once in a while. When it comes to these things, there is no one method that can be enough. Dont put all your eggs in one basket. Do different things and test things out, its the best way to learn how and what works. Please feel free to ask any question you may have Amar. Good luck.

Thank you for the list, there are many sites I didn`t know especially with PR 3 to 6. I take the opportunity to ask what`s the difference between link wheel with 2.0 sites and generating links with social bookmarking (if there is effectivelly any diference).
Thank you

Hi Santiago, I am glad you find the list helpful. The difference is the usage of each method. Link wheel is totally different in a sense that you link the sites to each other, but when you book mark, you just link it to your site, you dont link one social bookmarking site to another. I know its kind of confusing, its hard to explain. Link wheel is more of a advanced seo methods which helps your ranking, where as social bookmarking, helps more with getting the story put there and driving traffic to your site. I hope it helps.
